My Asparagus plants have arrived - of course at the most inconvenient time. Ground absolutely sodden and I won't be able to do much until Sunday at the earliest, weather permitting. Have soaked them for a couple of hours and then put them in pots covered with peat in the greenhouse. Will this keep them ok until I can get them into their permanent positions?

Hi Colin,
Have no fears as your Aspargus, suitably heeled in, will be fine for a considerable time. As we are getting quite a lot of rain at present may I suggest that you cover the area for your Asparagus with polythene to allow it to become workable.

Thanks Johnboy. Managed to cover ground with polythene on receiving plants - should have done it before instead of covering the potato patch! A lack of forward planning.
