Mistletoe

I am about to take a limb off an enormous Apple tree and there are two very large bunches of Mistletoe on it. These are full of Berries and they are ripe at this time of the year.
Because, due to frost I had no fruit whatsoever last year and I normally have a very large flock of Fieldfares that eat everthing in there path but because of no fallen Apples this year they bypassed me. Hence masses of Mistletoe on most of my trees.
Should anybody want some please send me a PM with their mailing address and you are welcome to as many as you want.

S'pose I should know but must ask, can mistletoe be grown on anything other than apple?

Hi Jude,
Mistletoe will grow on a great many different trees. I have it on Apple, Pear, Ash,Hawthorn, Poplar and on some types of Willow but certainly Salix Alba to name but a few.

Hi Johnboy

I have an apple tree which I pollard every two years as I don't want the apples (they're not very nice), it overhangs my chicken run and overshadows far too much of my garden. Would mistletoe still grow on it?
