The manure I was left last November has loads of straw in it. Does this matter??? Some bits seem like lumps of straw bedding with just a little bit of poo on/in it!

Get it all in pile and give it soaking with the hose and cover it with polythene digging in the edges with a spade sounds like its relatively fresh and needs to be left for a while to rot down.

Leave it as it is. It's good stuff. It can always be left to rot down a bit. Personally, I just shove it on the bed in October/November time and leave it, fresh or not. It's not made any difference really.

If you are worried, you could do as the others said and leave bits to rot down.

I wouldn't worry about it.
Lots of love

Like Darren C says, get it wet and wrap it up in black plastic, it should get very warm and when you can see steam when you unwrap it , turn it with a pichfork and cover and allow to heat up again. After a week or two it sould be nicely rotted and ready to use.
