I have an hibiscus that has unfortunately been damaged by the heavy frosts. Would anyone know if it is best to prune it back now or wait for the Spring?

Hi Annabel,
Hibiscus can be really touchy things, they are known as a nurseryman's nightmare as they always shoot very late in the spring.I should leave any pruning until the spring now and you can see where it is going to shoot from, being as they tell us it's going to be a hard winter it would probably be a good idea to cover it up if you can with fleece or even straw stuffed inside fleece (depending on the shape of it)to give it a bit of protection.
Hope this helps,
Carole
