I am regularly producing salad sprouts from Alfalfa, Mustard, Fenugreek, Clover &c.. Does anyone know if there is any difference if I buy the seed that's sold for "Green Manures"?

Yes , don't do it! Seeds sold as 'for sprouting' do not have any dressings, such as fungicides, which are generally not very good for humans either.

I suppose if you bought guaranteed organic seed it would probably be OK as that is supposed to be untreated.

Thanks, Beccy: that makes sense! I'll continue as before then.

Try

www.edwintucker.com

they sell various sprouting seeds in 1Kg quantities for around £7. This works out a lot cheaper than the small 30g packs available from T & M etc.
I don't suffer from insanity .... I enjoy it!

Hmm, maybe I'm gorwing impatient in my old age but I found Tucker's website and catalogue a pain in the nether regions to navigate. Since I only sprout about a teaspoonful of seed every week, I think I'll have to pass on this one!
