Hi All,

Is anybody else growing loofahs this year?. My plants are currently growing about 4” a day in the Polly. I seem to have several growing but when I checked today one has turned a browny colour from green. It is still firm and looks fine but do not know why the change in colour. Maybe that’s just what they do.

Thanks

Tracie

No, sorry, but I'd be really interested to hear how you get on. I saw an article about these and love the idea of growing my own loofahs (they make great pot scourers, too, it seems).

I am growing a loofa plant which is about 6 inches high and now about 12 weeks old, I had the opposite problem in that it was looking quite sickly after one month growth so I fed it with sulphate of ammonia followed with sulphate of potash a couple of weeks later and it now appears to be much healthier, time will tell.
