Night time temperaturres

I've just looked at my local 5-day weather forecast on the BBC website. (I've got to say I don't have enormous faith in it - many's the time it has said my dominant weather for the day is sunshine, and I've looked out of the window and it's pouring. Never mind.) Today it tells me that the minimum temperatures for the next four nights are forecast to be 7, 5, 4, and 6. Oh dear, the outdoor tomatoes and French beans aren't going to like it....

Hello Ken i hope we don't get a frost now, i've got nearly all my stuff out now. If we do i think i will get a couple of those giant wheeled covers they have at the top cricket grounds.

You look at one forecast and it says X.....you look at another and it says Y.......you look at another and it says Z..........
I think the accuracy rate of short term forecasts is something like 40%. You best bet is to keep your eyes open and understand your local environment.
Shame the BBC decided to dump Isobars and the Atlantic view as this was a great help. The shipping forecast thougn is very useful.

Country file (BBC 1 today) had a huge northerly wind coming down from the artic for the fist bit of next week, bringing cold rains for much of Scotland and England. Here in Wales we might escape the rain, but it could be cold at nights (esp Wednesday night which might have a frost)

Chantal and I were worrying about this today as we planted out nearly everything we`ve grown. We decided to be positive but then I read you had all seen it on different weather forecasts. Now I`m worried. Another glass of wine needed me thinks

OMG even Metcheck are forecasting cold nights for 3 nights starting tomorrow. I fear tomorrow's weeding schedule may turn into a fleecing schedule.

Well, I bunged my tomatoes out today and have used the dismantled 'Honolulu' as a windbreak against the strong north-westerly breeze we've had here (don't need it now I've got a shed) he he he!

As the old saying goes....I think that should go for tender plants as well!

I've just taken some 112 Toms from my very crowded 4ftx6ft plastic greenhouse and a cold frame and put them in my newly complete 14ftx28ft polytunnel ....they look very lonely!
However I did plant out some Dahlias, Lobelia, and Pelargoniums on Friday, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

But is that the end of the month of May or after the May has blossomed?
Chantals cunning plan is now completed. We have put in so many staples today I think we should buy shares in the company that produced them.
Slave labour is not dead in Rugby
Construction complete we hot footed it to the plot to cover our plants in cosy duvets for the night. It was freezing, wet and windy so I hope they appreciate it.
Now just the dinner and the ironing to do and then I`m planning to flop on the sofa.
