Oh dear, another puzzle! About 25% of my leeks have grown with their stems like a plaited rope, from the roots right up to the greenery. Other ones in the same bed, are OK. Any suggestions?

I kind of think I know what you mean John, where the leaves kind of split through from the lower layers & twist when they get out due to not going up but sideways - or am I am off the mark completely? If it is that poor description I haven't a clue why, but you usually can salvage some of the stem so not a lost crop. I would say some stress at some point or they just like reggae??
Sorry, blame robo for the link to reggae!
