Hi - have done a very silly thing and got my mangetout/sugarsnap seeds mixed up with my sweetpea seeds.
Only just realised, have gone to pick my lovely (what I thought were mangetout) when saw they were in my pot marked sweetpea!!!
I am assuming it is too early for sweetpea to be podding - and I have not had any flowers - any advice or opinions would be helpful.

Most edible peas are simple white flowers, the foliage is usually softer and paler green and the pods are a lot bigger. There might be more differences but would need to go and have a look.

Mangetout peas will have much larger fleshier foliage and much larger pods they can have white, purple or bicoloured flowers. Sweet pea foliage is usually more wiry and a bluish grey than the brighter green of the mangetout. Sweetpea pods are quite small and don't look very inviting to eat - the seeds are probably poisonous too.

Hope this helps.
