I have also noticed that we are slowly being invaded by 'sleeping' members. If you look at the last page of the registered members list, in Who is Online, there are quite a few registrations now from the US all with suspect ringtone websites.

I'd noticed the influx of American "members" but to be honest I didn't think anything of it; I`'ve just been and looked and I take your point about the dodgy websites, some of them are the same as each other too. Another job for Mr PH on Monday I suspect. I hope he gets the moderator thing sorted out soon as this has happened again on a Friday night!

Sorry Chantal, but what is a dodby website? Is it something technical I don't understand (extremely likely) or a speeling mistak?

It's a list of words, many offensive, which appear to be website links. The string of words is incomprehensible and just better ignored. We had one a couple of weeks ago on a Friday night which made us all jump up and down a bit. Mr PH gave the good advice of just ignore it and he'll remove it asap (Monday now). You can look at the posting with no danger but for pity's sake don't click on anything.

Why oh why cant we just have members only and stop the guests posting threads. It takes minutes to register and if you visit frequently it makes sence.

I notice that it was posted after office hours on a Friday again, its about time Spud head pulled his sherriffs badge out and appointed some deputies to moderate, just like he promised.

one of us could have cleared it this evening as it is twill probably there till monday.

Yes sorry about that all - As Leigh says we need to find ourselves a willing Moderator to help out in these off times.

Obviously, the old forum had no membership controls, and this board could run as a member only site - but we didn't want to go that far and put those casual guest posters off!

Still, we have other means to block such offensive posters - banning their IP (web) address etc, and we will shortly announce a new Mod too to help remove such posts.

I guess it happens on the very best of sites, but if you do see something like this - drop me a text message
