Been thanked: 2 times

My leeks have grown well this year but are starting to rot (go brown) on their exteriors, earlier than usual. Usually they last until about February before they start to rot in the ground, At the moment they're still usable by stripping off down to white flesh, but should I pull them all up now and cook and freeze? Is it due to the mild, though hardly wet, autumn?

I think it's weather related, I'd do just as you say, dig up and freeze. I've got a load of leek soup in't freezer. Cheers, Tony.

Same here, JohnN. I also think it's related to the weather - lots of odd things going on out there at the moment.
