Hi all, I was just wondering if there is a way I can cancel the avatars. I have ungone eye surgery which has made my eyes and especially the retina sensitive to bright light. On some topics there is a flashing avatar and it catches me every now and then so I wondered if I could dull it down a bit by using my settings, if not i will just get on though I do find it annoying when trying to read. Thanks.

On the topmost green band click on the body torso. That should give you a drop down window with three options.
Select 'User control panel'
Click on tab that reads 'Board Preferences'
Select 'Display Options'
Check 'NO' option for 'Display Avatars'

Click 'submit'

This should stop all avatars being displayed

The 'torso' image is on right hand side of green banner band immediately below the KItchen Garden Forum heading, between the question mark and message envelope.
When you hover the cursor over it your user name will show, then click on it and proceed as above

The danger when people start to believe their own publicity is that they often fall off their own ego.

At least travelling under the guise of the Pa Snip Enterprise gives me an excuse for appearing to be on another planet
