Lemon Thyme didn't flower this year

Postby Elahid » Thu Aug 13, 2020 11:48 am

Any ideas why? My two new ones flowered and the bees are all over them constantly.

The lemon thyme I bought last year flowered most of last summer but not a peep out of it this year. It's lovely and luscious but no gifts for the bees.

Thanks for help.

Blimey you're far, far away from our climate. I'd say it is having a rest year like fruit trees do. Expend their energy on one good crop every other year & building up energy for that by not flowering or giving much in the in-between year? Maybe?? Clever people may say different so hold on for them to respond!

Perhaps you were too kind to your lemon thyme, fed it too much and it used the energy to grow and grow rather than flower?
