Hydroponics help/question

Hello all. I decided to set up a small scale nft system for this
Year but have a question about the pvc pipes.
I see things online where people have used rain gutter down pipe
And soil pipes but are these safe to use?
Or do i need specific pipes for hydro?

I also look forward to any answers to these post & seeing your set up when you have it all sorted. This interests me as re-using most of the water without it just leaking away into the soil.
