Hi All,
Just a warning that someone has been trying to access accounts on the forum (and our other forums) recently. We have logs of the attacks, but it's a good time to remind you all to use a strong password, generally consisting of letters and numbers in upper or lowercase, or even with extra characters (Like &^$£&!)
Good password: Gh8Zj98L
Bad password: carrots

Thanks KG, whatever can they think they are going to get from a bunch of gardeners?
Kind regards,
Elle

Primrose. I admire their tenacity, but question their wisdom.

I would suggest they are after passwords so they can post things, such as links to their delightful porn sites, as happened before it was a members' only forum

Kind regards,

Just out of interest, what can the hackers do if they access our KG forum details?
I wonder if this has anything to do with all the new members we are getting - 78 so far this year - most of whom post nothing

They'll get addresses so that they can post their pesky viruses. By the way, hi there everyone. I haven't been sulking, just far too busy now that I'm retired. Working harder than when I was paid to work.

On a forum, generally the only thing hackers will try and do is post spam. Some forums will show registered users much more detail on other users, and this could also be the reason - but in general, it's simply to post spam.
Of course if they are trying to hack my account (Admin) - then their hope is also to send out spam messages to everyone on the board too. No luck there either
