my tomatoes are 4 weeks old, (so am i come to think of it)and they have now got little brown marks appearing on them could any one enlighten me on what is happening to them please.

Thanks for all the help, i've phoned my father and he said that he would buy me a pound of tomatoes from tescos.

been sprayed with tomato feed would that do it??????????

Brown marks on the bottom of the toms is Bottom End Rot. This is due to lack of calcium in the plant, due to not enough water getting up to the tomatoes as they are developing. There is another thread on this subject. You might beable to use some of the tomato if you can cut off the BER, otherwise pick off the effected toms and compost them, and remember to keep watering regularly.
