A challenging article in Saturday's Telegraph by Robin Page. What other birds etc are protected raptors killing?
And a suggestion that RSPB might be dishonestly concealing reality{?}

I saw a red kite over the Conquest hospital Hastings, they have a large pond in the grounds and used to have moorhens and wild duck, not any more. When a pair of red kite appeared in the sky above my house all the usual birds made themselves scarce, obviously well aware they were at risk, luckily for the birds I have only seen it once
Sit down before a fact as a little child, be prepared to give up every preconcieved notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abyss nature leads, or you shall learn nothing.

If anyone watched Springwatch they would have seen the Buzzard prey list. That included 7 squirrels and all sorts of chicks. The number of Buzzards here might explain why we have so few squirrels.
One reason given for the success and increase in crows, magpies, etc., is that road kill sustains them during the winter months when they might otherwise struggle.
