After the ranger re-located our two adders it was a relaxing year not having to check their location on the plot first before getting onto what needs doing - today there was another one. Pretty late for a first sighting so must have just moved in.

Was a big shock to see her basking under the canes I was going for but prompted me to clear the weeds along the back fence rather smartish!

Do you have a pond Westi? I believe they are quite partial to newts and toads, as well as small rodents, probably some food source attracting them

No pond but hedgerow right behind, then a feild, then the railway bank
which is full of them. This girlie obviously wanted a bit more comfort and
quiet so moved house. At least I shouldn't have any mice in the shed. :D
