Amazes me how you manage to find them all Tiger.
Are voles a rarity in your neck of the woods or fairly prolific?

Thanks for the kind comments, I think Voles are prolific in most areas, we have a lot of predators like Owls and Kestrels that eat a lot of them.

Your photo of a Siskin is about the only time I,m likely to see one these days. When we first moved to this house 40 years ago we had flocks of them. Sadly haven,t seen a single one for years.
A long memory is not always a good thing to have.

The swifts around our village this year are greatly reduced which doesn't augur well for future years.

We seem to be having a good year inland with bird numbers, it's the coastal ones that seem to be suffering with poor chick numbers.

Plenty of red kites here in the Chilterns. Beautiful birds. A friend in Henley would put scraps out and the would land in the back garden a couple of yards from the windows

Hello, tigerburnie, glad you are still about! You have been missed .... Great photo, as usual!
We do get the occasional red kite here, presumably from the population around Harewood House and Ilkley Moor, always beautiful to watch. Our more common raptors are buzzards which nest not too far away and peregrines.
