A Mountain Hare taken last year

Sadly a lot of them are culled on the Grouse Moors, so can be hard to find.

A couple of Grey Partridges

Quite rare up here, lots of French ones put out with the Pheasants, but the indigenous ones are few and far between.

See quite a few Red Grouse in the Glens once you get to around a 1000 feet above sea level.

We get quite a few moorland birds and an occasional sighting of winter hares. My son had a strange encounter with a red grouse last week when walking on the moors. It was standing on the path and didn't fly away when he walked past it, then it flew onto the back of his neck and clapped it's wings hard on either side of his head. It then went back to guard the path. He said he just kept walking as it was either exceedingly macho or barmy!

Yet another beautiful photo. You shouldn't be wasting all these talents in retirement!

And I,m sure everybody on here thoroughly enjoys them but I still think they are deserving of a wider audience !

These are viewable on the internet on my flickr site and I have had a couple printed in the Scottish Field magazine in the past. There are literally thousands of amateur photographers vying to sell images, not a cattle market I could be bothered with really.

How true, a cattle market indeed. So mny people with a half decent camera (or maybe not in some cases) and little if any training want to call themselves a photographer by profession.

The pics you choose to share with us are excellent, carry on posting on places that give you the most satisfaction

The danger when people start to believe their own publicity is that they often fall off their own ego.

At least travelling under the guise of the Pa Snip Enterprise gives me an excuse for appearing to be on another planet
