I just tuned in, seeing that there was another addition to this thread, and thought we might get a glimpse of Tiger dressed up in his galoshes and sou'wester angling for a Quiche, but the Shelduck will substitute very nicely.

They are rarely caught in the Hebrides, but I have caught a couple on the NE coast including this one caught in March this year.
This was returned to the sea as they are under a lot of pressure
Been gardening for over 65 years and still learning.

They certainly are under pressure ,this year pleasure anglers were not allowed to keep any all had to be returned but the trawlers could keep all they caught then again you have all the chefs on the television pushing them telling people to eat more they even tried to change the name to sea bass to make it sound more tasty, now I've got my self wound up and supposed to be going out for lunch ,bass will not be on the menu

Amazing! Two of my favourite birds! We had swans (not wild) on the lake at work but they were removed after some uncontrollable nipper chased them when they had young & had his arm broken when they protected them. They are remembered by photos in the corridors though.
The owl is a memory of when I saw one while I was sitting outside a pub having lunch. It overlooked a field. The owl took a mouse from the field & flew right over us - I swear it looked me in the eye (or so it seemed)! Maybe it wanted a chip though?
