Folk have commented on my pictures, so I thought I'd open a new thread for them, I spend quite a lot of time taking photos of our wildlife.

Great pictures ,just out of curiosity what camera do you use , I do realize it's the skill of the person behind the camera rather than the camera ,my wife used to be into photography the cost of her equipment at the time was very expensive now it's worthless

I used a Canon 1D iv with a 100-400 mm telephoto lens on these shots, yes the equipment is very expensive if you want professional standard kit. I'm looking for a faster prime lens and even an old second hand one is going to start at £2000. If you have access to flickr on the tinternet, you can find my pictures on there, it also lists the equipment used and the settings I used to take the image.

A couple of years ago in bad weather we had a brief invasion of redpolls who devoured every berry in sight and then took off. Haven,t seen a single one since then. The hot dry summer seems to have resulted in far fewer berries available round here for all the birds.

Our local Osprey nest at Balgavies Loch(pronounced Bal-guys), about 8 miles from where we live.

I was trying to take a pic of something today to post here but the wee bee that was visiting was photo shy! November & a bee was still out & about was very surprising, but then the fact I have flowers still in bloom is as well!

Magnificent!. I'm afraid the nearest raptor we're likely to see round here is a red kite who now seem to be becoming almost as common as blackbirds! I
Was wondering how long it took yiu to get that particular snap or was is just a case of being in the right place at the right time ? Being a good wildlife photographer takes a huge amount of patience.
