My elderly neighbour saves scraps and kitchen waste and hangs them in a bag on the fence for me to feed my hens.

I always do a thorough quality control check and select fresh greens, sometimes a bit of bread and butter or fruit cake and all the rest goes in the compost or the dustbin.

Today's bag had sticks of celery and half a chicken sandwich! Oops.

Oh dear, that wasn't very tactful was it.
Can you imagine one hen saying to another. "Do you think this is Great Uncle Henry"?

When my sons were small their grandad had despatched Henry the Cockerell and when the older one told the other that he was eating Henry sandwiches he had a funeral for the sandwich in the garden.
