It may not affect British small producers much, but some scientists believe that large scale factory farmers are using avian flu alarms to shut down the small producers. Their evidence suggests that h5n1 is primary in factory flocks and is transported by road around the world and not by wild fowl.

It's funny how the swan with h5n1 turned up in Scotland just as the government were trying out a full scale emergency exercise to contain an outbreak of the disease. Nothing else has been heard of this VIRULENT DISEASE since
