They have just snapped off the head of every single one of my purple tulips yet left the red ones severely alone. I spotted one reaching up the stem, pulling the flower bud over, looking into it and then snapping it off. Possibly hoping there was something nice inside to est but they haven't been going anywhere near the red tulips.. Perhaps they intuitively ignore any red plant as dangerous or poisonous unless they're famiiliar with it
