We were driving back from an Easter week-end down in East Sussex earlier this morning and saw a Red Kite flying nearing the M23 south of Gatwick. This is the furthest south we've ever seen one and just shows how rapidly they are extending their territory. They originally started off in the Chilterns in Bucks and we were on the very edge of their territory. Now where we are we see them almost as regularly as blacknbirds !

Hi Primrose,
I know they are as far south as the New Forest, I'm just waiting for some to hop the solent and visit the island. We have so many buzzards over here though that the competition may be too strong.
