For anyone who remembers him...
Sad news from Worcestershire this week, my lovely Rocky died in sleep at the grand old age (for a chicken) of six and a half.
I'd been to visit him only the month before and he was looking very old and tired, but still guarding his girls.
His full story his here, should anyone who didn't know him wish to look

Thanks JB, I must admit I shed a few tears when I received the news. It seems like yesterday that he was living in the house and I was so worried about his star gazing.
However, he did lead a charmed life and had a very good one, which is more than can be said of most cockerels who end up on a plate or worse.
I have so many wonderful memories of him and sharing them with you all on here was a joy.

Dear Chantal, so sorry to read this. But thanks to you, and only to you, Rocky bloomed into the wonderful looking and spirited, Cockerel that he was. But i bet he made full use of the life you gave him. A sad loss indeed.
I must admit the posting has left me feeling rather sad, not only for the loss of Rocky, but also that a lot of the regulars that were on the forum at that time no longer visit. They were indeed some happy and very funny times.
Hope all is well with you?

Yeah, doing OK thanks but it's been a crazy year, I may explain sometime.
We now have eight new girls, safe in a secure run and starting to earn their keep. No more cockerels though!
Also have five cats as we adopted an 11 year old rescue cat (Gracie and taken in a feral kitten (Filbert). After 3 days of wearing gauntlets to put food in his cage and being lacerated at every turn, he's turning into a beautiful and affectionate little boy. He's only around 14 weeks old but is already playing tag and play wrestling with Diego and Fabio, Tabitha is keeping her distance.
I'm hoping I can spend more time on here now things have settled down a bit, I have missed you all.

That's very sad Chantal. I enjoyed reading about him when you posted some time ago. But that's a right old age for a cockerill so he was really a very feisty bird and you can feel proud of how you cared for him.
Hopefully we'll see more of you in the future. I'm sure everybody has missed you and your lively postings.
