Walking across a large village green grazed by cattle next to the National Trust property of Hatfield Forest I encountered some slightly terse signs advising me to bag and remove any faeces my dog might see fit to deposit. A carry off situation as the neatest dog-poo bin is in the heart of the forest next to the NT cafe.
The reason was a protozoan parasite I'd never heard of, see this NFU leaflet.
