As in the past few years, spring has really arrived now that Dolly, the wild duck, has turned up in the field with her two constant companions.

The three of them reappeared this morning - nearly three weeks earlier than last year. What a pleasure to see them.

It must have been a real pleasure to see them arrive again. You have reminded me that it probably won't be too long before our own regular annual visitor (mallard, also generally with two blokes in tow) turns up in our garden. She never nests here, just trashes our mini pond if she gets the chance and eyes the kitchen regularly waiting to be fed !
