Glad you've seen a brambling Monika. I've been looking out for them but haven't seen any yet. They usually arrive around here with the Chaffinches when the weather turns worse.

It's very early for us for bramblings, Plumpudding. I usually expect them around mid-December. For a few years, in the 1990s, we often had more than forty in the garden and on the nature reserve in front of our house, but then the numbers slowly decreased. Last year we only saw a few, but I am hoping the numbers might go up again. They are so lovely to watch, particularly in spring, just before they leave, when the males are in their best breeding plumage.
