Hi,
Does anyone know where I might find a small wind powered water pump to draw up water from a 9m deep well? For a variety of reasons I don't want one that generates electricity to power an electric pump.
I've trawled the web but to no avail. Any guidance gratefully received.

Hello jonaelli, welcome to the forum. I also have a well in the garden that needs a pump so I would be interested in any replies too that are sustainable and not too pricey

Have you considered a Solar-powered pump?They may be less expensive.

I visited CAT about ten years ago and they had a decidedly low-tec wind powered pump then. The fan drove a crankshaft which pulled a long connecting rod up and down. This ended in a ball joint fastened to the pump rod. Being a ball joint, the fan could swing round on it’s turntable as the wind changed without the mechanism getting knotted up. It looked to have been made out of scrap metal and was a lot less sophisticated than the rest of the exhibits as CAT seemed to be changing from showing DIY green technology to professionally available exhibits.
