Hi All,

my petrol lawnmower has finally given up the ghost and I am looking to get a new petrol replacement.

If possible I would like one that does stripes, and is for a medium size garden.

Has anybody got a good lawnmower they can recommend.

Thanks Tracie

Dear Tracie, i think a lot depends on how much you want to spend.
They seem to jump from about the £250 mark for the basic models, straight up to £650 for a more solidly built item.

I think the cheaper ones are very much the same as each other.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Given how long the ones I own have lasted, the fact that the factory is two miles away and my neighbour works for them I recommend Hayter every time. :D

Hayterette bought new in 1975, & on its second Briggs & Stratton engine.
Hayter Harrier bought secondhand around 1990 and still going well, leaving great stripes. :D

I inherited my father's 1971 Hayterette in 1992. It is still going strong - on the original engine.

I'm a big fan of Honda mowers - they are superbly built machines.
Anything with an alloy or a poly? deck will be a far better buy than a machine with a painted mild steel deck.
