Hello,
We have just puchased a couple of Metabo brand and used them for our Yew hedge trimming were we have previously used Freund Victoria.

Freund seems currently not available in UK..so we have rested our last of these this year and used the Metabo and whilst they are not quite the Freund blade spec they are not far off and did a very good job...and perhaps should be added to your search list..

We tend to have a series of trimmers graded out relative to age/wear....new machines start their life on the Box and Yew trimming then when getting tired for that job are still good for the slightly coarser perimeter Beech hedge.. We also have a short section of
Hawthorn which is particularly hard on trimmers.

a lot depends on what and how much you intend to cut...metabo and sthil are premium brands.. maybe worth the premium price if your using them allday everday, ryobi seems to be generally good stuff at reasonable prices, ive mixed feelings about bosch some of their stuff is good others not ...ive just picked up a cheap (ebay) bosch battery hedgecutter. it uses the same 14 volt batteries as my cordless drill, it does the job on a small hedge or a shrub
