Bloody hell tiger blue skies I forgot what they look like

Windy as heck, but not too cold, almost spring like it is.

I agree about the light robo, my solar panels have generated 75% of what they did in the first 14 days of last March.

If only I had my old train spotters book from 58 years ago I could just about make the engine number out on the front then I could fined its name in my book , ahh times from yesteryear

Bugger ,I've just googled it , she was built in 2008 she is named tornado (very apt considering the weather) it would not have been in my book that's cheating

Don't worry Robo I shall be there again on the 1st May to see 60009 Union of South Africa, you can find that one in your book lol.

Humph. I was supposed to be going over Ribblehead behind Union of South Africa last weekend, but it was cancelled - apparently needs new piston and valve rings. Really disappointed, it was meant to be my birthday treat, 60009 is due to be withdrawn very shortly and none of the other A4s are in working order - Sir Nigel is in pieces being repaired, Bittern is in storage at the old Hornby factory in Margate waiting for repair. Mallard was only repaired enough for light duties for the 50th anniversary of the world record, so is unlikely to move under its own steam any time soon.

Still, went by Tornado from Milton Keynes to Chester year before last, it is superb. No need for a diesel back engine like many of the antique ones. At the next platform in Chester was Oliver Cromwell - made a great scene.

I know a couple of lads who know the owner of 600009, hoping to get a closer look at some point.

Many (25?) years ago, I took some photos of Sir Nigel Gresley in pieces in the sheds at Steam Town, Carnforth. and it's in pieces again?
We can see the trains of the Bolton Abbey and Embsay Railway in the valley below our house, so steam trains are quite 'normal' in our village, although never very large ones. The big event shortly is the launch of the public use of the perfectly re-conditioned 1903 railcar.
