Can anybody recommend a battery powered lawn edge strimmer which uses the plastic wire reels.
We currently have a Bosch model which uses those plastic key cutters. It has proved very unsatisfactory with the plastic keys snapping regularly and being very difficult to remove.
Don't really need it for general grass or undergrowth steimming - just lawn edging, to make anno domini a little easier!

personally id go with mains electric, provided you can get a long enough extension lead,

the downside to a battery one is charging batteries, the lithium ones are a lot better than nicads, but they are pricey.

ive actually got a ryobi 18v battery strimmer, it does what its supposed to, ive actually got 3 lithium batteries.. about 25 quid each used from china, but ive got several (stopped counting at a dozen) ryobi tools that use the same battery pack, they do an extensive range of gardening and diy tools.

probably the one i use most is the pruner (reciprocating saw on an extension pole).
