I've not finished reading the magazine yet, but just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the interesting article by Lucy Halliday about beetroot pigments and the difference between betalains and anthocyanins.

Also I find the A.G.M. trial reports very useful regarding soil preparation and care of the crops and for choosing the best varieties both old and new.

Hi Plum Pudding,

I have been really enjoying the series on raised beds this year. Nice and easy to follow with useful suggestions. The back to basics stuff is always good too, as that is where I am - basic!!
Kind regards,
