Shallots in pots

I'm considering this because my allotment is so wet still this year and I am on clay anyway, so shallots don't always do that well for me.

Has anyone else found it really helps or am I just as well to let the ground dry and plant them later :?:

John - these are an amazing read. If you followed the ministry plan, you could have procduced enough veg to feed half the street, let alone yourself. You can see how the government at the time was really mobilising the civilian population to do their bit and dig for victory. I especially loved the c...

Mandylew - try Crown Prince. Lovely big fruits with a grey/blue skin. Usual orange flesh, but really dense and great flavour. They store for months as well.

They are good to roast, or BBQ wedges and take curry spice and chilli perfectly.

Nope - I still have half the plot to dig My neighbour is the ex-site rep and always has at least 4 or 5 mapcap schemes on the go. Our plots are on the edge of the site and we have a large mound of earth running along side them. Last year he bit my ear until I strimmed down all the brambles on my hal...

I came home from work to find deeply depressed husband syndrome had struck (he's Scottish)

He managed 20 minutes of the game before he had to switch off and go away, it was soooo bad

1 roast dinner later, he's a little better

I take it where I can get it OH I am an erratic plot holder at best and the old boys on my site regularly suck their teeth at my alternate mad blitz sessions and corner cutting moments. However, composting unites all plot holders and I have been on the receiving end of several admiring comments abou...
