Hi Andrew,
if you're having trouble finding manure locally, can I suggest you try Freecycle? That's how I found the load I'm hoping to collect at the weekend.

Lovely day here too, but was at a friend's birthday party in Reading so didn't get a chance to do anything (but had a good time anyway!) haven't done any digging in the garden but it looks more like a pond at the moment. have got the stuff ready to plant the onion seed ready to go on the window sill...

Manure!

Ok,please don't laugh - I know this is probabaly a stupid question! :oops:

I've been offered some rotted sheep manure & bedding. Is this Ok to use on the garden? Is one type of muck better than another? I've had the offer of some horse muck too - perhaps I should try both?? :lol:

Emm - I enjoyed it but, on reflection, not sure that I learnt a lot, even as a real beginner. (except, we did learn where we went wrong with the Jersulam Artichcokes!)
