Garlic - Pot Ok?

See now is the time to grow garlic and there is an offer in the magazine.

Can I put these into a pot then transplant them in raised beds next year?

If pot is ok where do I put it outside or in shed?

Re: lawn advice

If it is just patches you want to repair then this tip from Monty Don may help. Grow grass in small pots in greenhouse/shed, and then transplant them into your lawn. Worms

As I understand it tiger worms (used in a wormary) will kill off normal garden worms.

So will normal garden worms be ok in a wormery and if so can you buy them?

Re: Toad

When on holiday in the Lake District I remember getting up to thousands of little frogs making there way across the patio to their favourite place.

Cress & Rape seed

Notice the cress I buy from the supermarket has 80% Rape seed & 20% cress.

Am I eating rape & cress or does the rape seed do something else like feed the cress?

Re: Raised Bed & Greenhouse

A bit more insight... This is part of my back garden for vegetable planting I will have about 24ft square available. I already have a shed with a bench 10ft long in front of 3 west face windows. I would like to grow peppers, chillies, tomatoes & strawberries (in hanging baskets) in a greenhouse....

Aphids on apple tree

My garden started off empty with just an apple tree, 2 roses plus a few plants brought on special offer. The apple tree had a very small amount of blossom and failed to have any signs of apples. Research showed this was caused to aphids so I went to work with the jet water hose over the summer month...
