I think you're right, OH. Forgive me, it's an age question!

Annoying Tits
Can anyone suggest a way to stop a flock of very small Tits (not sure what kind) from pecking all the paint off my soffit boards. They've virtually stripped the last coat of black down to the original yellow, but don't seem interested in that! Sitting at my Mac I can hear them outside the window - t...

Blossom
Both my neighbours and myself have a huge amount of blossom on our apple trees this year and my quince tree is laden as well. We had a slight frost last night (car iced up!) but trees SEEM to have escaped disaster. Fingers crossed for the next few days.

Re: incinerator
Point taken, Robo. Aldi had sold out so I got one at B&Q for £17.55, inc 10% Wednesday discount.

incinerator
My old dustbin-style incinerator has disintegrated after about 2 years' use. But how to protect the inside of a new one to make it last longer? All I can think of is a round piece of sheet metal inside, to protect the bottom. What about the sides? Anyone any bright ideas?

Re: Blight?
Thank you, Monika. I've sprayed them with a mild solution of Bordeaux mixture, so we'll see.

Re: Blight?
TB - Not sure as my thermometer doesn't go very low (50 deg). This morning, 8.30, I reckon it's about 18-20 deg. as it's dull and no sun. The white patches have also developed a bit of brown edging, but they don't seem any worse than 48hrs ago.

Re my Blight post. I've just noticed that the cherry toms, next to the Alicante seem to be unaffected!

Blight?
5 days ago I transferred my windowsill-grown tomato plants, 8" high, into the greenhouse to harden them up before planting into grow bags. They have all developed white patches on the edges of the leaves. Is this blight, or something else - I can't find anything to quite match it on the interne...

Re: (Delayed) Spring 2018
Primrose - re your Noah reference, there was a very subtle cartoon I saw in a paper. Line of animals in pairs waiting to board ark. A pair of horses are introducing themselves to a pair of unicorns: "Hi, I'm Robert and this is Anne" Unicorn: "Hi, I'm Bill and this is Jack."

Re: RUNNER BEAN NET.
I erected a runner bean support many years ago, which I’ve found easy to manage. It consists of two 3” sq x 7ft posts, set in Metposts and 10 ft apart. 3/4" slots, cut into the top of each post “in line” with the narrow plot, hold each end of a 10ft long 4” x ¾” plank. To support the beans I us...

Raspberry canes
Gorgeous weather this a.m. so spent the morning extending my raspberry "frame" to take the 5 new canes I bought this week. They're all together in a pot so I've got to separate them. Is it best to plant each in a separate hole, or dig a trench? Use just the soft earth already there or plan...
