We're expecting ours in August down here in southest Dorset - can't wait but get so jealous of these other brand p...

Re: Climate differences affecting veg growth in the UK
Just around the corner from you in Dorset. You can grow anything just earlier generally & for longer at the end of the season. Most of the soil down here is sandy so you will definitely have to improve it (Or you may be lucky) . Oh not as much rain so will need to water more! I didn't have much ...

Re: A garlic and tomato recipe. Almogrote Gomera.

Winter Brassicas
Due to waiting for beds to be free I left my winter brassicas in the nursery bed longer than intended & they were quite big. Today they looked OK but had lost all their bottom leaves although the central ones were green & healthy. Does this mean they have been too stressed with the move &...

Re: Bunches of dead leaves on sweet cherry tree
PP mine had that problem a couple of years ago. Someone at lottie id'd it but can't remember the name. He basically said it was doomed but I struggled through cutting off bits but fruit aborted & it got worse & worse so donated it to my neighbours bonfire night. Westi PS - hope you've got so...

Re: Early Summer Bits and Bobs.
I've got a blackbird family living in my ?Jostaberry bush , I haven't a clue what it is, it's usually laden & was about a week ago but looking bare now with just some unripe ones left & quite a few black currants looking mangled like they've been taste tested! I'm regularly startled by the f...

Re: Blueberry
I've got 3 in pots Elaine & all fruiting but are quite small so think I'll pot them into bigger pots next year to let them grow a bit bigger & hopefully get more fruit. (I probably would have enough fruit but dog likes them - I monitor them closely for ripening, think 1 or 2 more days then g...
