KG - Seed Swap

That seed swap looks a good Idea I intend to do one next year but also add seedlings. I tend to plan 20 tomato seeds incase some don't come up. Then end up with 20 plants.

I plant Kestral. My plot is like a brick works. And they come up lovely. Never a problem with Slugs or Blight. Dig a trench and but a layer of leaves in it, put in the tuber and cover with compos t. AS they grow cover again with compost and keep pileing it on as they grow.

I also got my Magazine 3 days after I ordered it not the "next day" I was expecting and no seeds so I phoned the nice lady. I think that she was being boiled in a pot when I phoned. She couldn't have been more unhelpful.

I get most of mine from the local Gardeners (the ones your pay to do your garden if you are posh). In the summer I get at lease a dozen bags of grass and trimmings a week. Our allotments now get loads of bags dumped in our carpark as gardeners have to pay to dump it at the tip. Helps us helps them.

For the first year you should dig them up and put them in the greenhouse, then on just cut them back and cover the crowns with straw. After that I leave them out.
