Re-subscribing to KG.

Hi all, I have just renewed my subscription on-line and was taken by the fact that you can now get the mag in Zino Digital format. I thought what a great idea as I can file them away on the computer and can easily search for any article. My wife put the blocks on this though when she said "And ...

Hi Beryl and Geoff,
I thought the same as you Beryl. Then I noticed that the free delivery offer only ran from 1st September 2006 to 31st August 2007 so perhaps it's no longer functional.I have contacted them by e-mail and will let you know the answer.

Where has my fruit gone?

Hi Monika, Thanks for the reply but we don't have any squirrels in the area. The bite mark on the apple indicated that the culprit could open it's mouth at least 4" wide. This afternoon I noticed the blighter had pulled up a beetroot and tried it for taste. We do have one deer in the locality (...

Where has my fruit gone?

Hi John,
That thought crossed my mind but they wouldn't be able to reach the top ones. Anyway they were back again last night and started on the apples. There was one off on the lawn with teeth marks in it but it must not have been to their liking.

Where has my fruit gone?

Hi all, My Victoria Plum had a load of fruit on it in July, but just as it was ready to harvest all the fruit disapeared and it looked as though something had been trying to climb the tree (broken branches). There was no sign of the stones either. Today all but two pears had gone off my Conference t...

A local farmer told me that it is the root which is attractive and poisonous to cattle. So the problem arises when it is pulled up and left on the ground where it is available to livestock. There is Ragwort growing at the side of some local lanes along which cattle are driven on a daily basis and no...

This really happened.

Good morning everyone, A local farmer fancied growing some veg but knowing nothing about it asked Sean, a friend of mine, to help him. Various things were sown earlier in the year and yesterday Sean and the farmer visited the plot. Sean picked a pea pod and said "These are ready for harvesting ...
