Re: November planted potatoes
Hi, I've just dug up a few of the left over charlottes - they looked amazing (not even slug damage). However, my husband roasted them and they were really watery? Not had that before. Any thoughts?
Can you do anything with watery potatoes?
Many thanks

Re: Any rare birds visiting your gardens?
Just opened my back door to call my cat 'Alfie' in, and a sparrow hawk landed on the fence a couple of metres from me and glared at me..... Maybe, He was either called Alfie or had plans on making my cat his breakfast and I had disturbed him! We live on the outskirts of a market town, so it's always...

Re: Food unwrapped
My husband makes amazing pizza (he does all the cooking, I do the growing). His base is thin and simple. Basic bread recipe (400g strong white flour, teaspoon and a half of yeast, teaspoon and half salt, a few long glugs of olive oil and tepid water (not as warm as with bread making) (450ml - enough...

Re: Christmas Gift Lists
We too are doing things a bit differently this Christmas. Earlier this year my mums dog was attacked and badly hurt by another dog which had escaped from its garden. The vets and local animal rescue team were amazing and made us realise what they do, how devoted they are and how under funded they ar...

Re: They're at it again!!!
We had mice move into my car when parked at Heathrow. It was a good job they'd set the alarm off so much to cause battery to die ..... Other wise we wouldn't have noticed the fountain of diesel as a result of them eating the fuel pipeline....... Welcome home. Had a real problem with rats at the allo...

Re: Unimpressed (sorry to be negative)
Dan - wait until after Christmas. You'll find offers such as 3 months for £3 and you still get the new subscriber free seeds and free gift (but remember to cancel the direct debit after the first month) , or 20 packs of seeds when you subscribe. They generally don't give these offers just before Chr...

Hi, I went for two months with no magazine this year (July and August). I sent them an email and to be fair they sent me the 'shop' copies ..... Although the confirmation email was lacking an apology .....
Hope yours arrives soon.

Re: Strawberry Sweetcorn?
I did a check a couple of months ago - subscribers get different seeds to those you buy from a shop. I would say the ones subscribers get are not as good/interesting as the ones from shops (and when I did look not as many packs). You'd have thought they would be the same.... KG?

Re: Strawberry Sweetcorn?
I love growing unusual veg - looks interesting. All my sweetcorn was devoured by hungry rats this year over the space of two days. At least you got something interesting with your magazine. When I read the email from kg and it said to look forward to your 'Mystery packet of seeds' I was excited... A...

Thanks Dan. Really helpful. I've tried to add an avatar several times, however can't reduce it to a small enough size - 125kb limit really is very small. I'll try again.
