I would like to mention our way of eating our own tomatoes all year round, namely by freezing the surplus. This gives the best flavour and nutrition compared with the imports in our winter. It is only convention that says that tomatoes must be 'fresh', if only people were to accept frozen tomates th...

Spam filter

Some time ago if my memory is right there were recommendations given on this forum for an effective spam filter (free?)
Can someone please oblige with the recommendation as the search utility cannot find it.

I fear that this latest posting by Alan gets us nowhere in finding an alternative to big"O" and therefore is best ignored. It represents all the controversy making Mr PH's move necessary. If I could add one more remark My position on the whole subject is near enough that of JB with the sol...

You have got an impossible job on as everybody who grows purely for their own consumption is allowed to call their gardening and produce organic without restraint whatever they do. I can show you an article in a magazine NFU Countryside where the use of Roundup was quoted, but anybody who is organic...

And a deep purse to pay the subscription,it's not a free to view channel!
Also remembering the massive subsidy that everyone pays via the goods we buy and the TV adverts that are put on all the commercial channels.

I use chemicals on my gardening, none of which are harmful as they are all approved by FSA etc. I certainly don't want to be bracketed with Organic growers.

What started out as a reference to some intelligent scientific appraisal of the facts has ended up as yet another pro-and anti- organic brawl the like of which we have seen only to often. As originator of the topic I think it is time the whole matter is dropped. Where are all these moderators? Allan...

If you are going to ask whether Organic food is better you must say which Organic food and better than which non-organic food. Organic food may be better sometimes but not just because it happens to be organic. I could show you Organic food that I would be ashamed to try to sell. Is my food to be co...

I have refrained from saying anything about the material of the broadcast but feel that now is the time to say a few words. First let me point out to Jenny Green that as far as I know with the introduction of the new form of Forum the topics that Jhnboy referred to would no longer be available hence...

is Organic food better

On BBC Radio 4 26th April The Investigation dealt with whether Organic food is better for you and also various other assertions about it. Local Grown and imported organic food were also dealt with. You can hear it on Listen Again for the next 6 days only.
If only there were a text version.
