New Allotmenteers

Hi Colin and all, This is a seriously good idea as I think many people would be put off the idea of growing their own if left to their own devices. I'm into my third year now and things are better but far from the ideal I had in my mind when I started. Success breeds success and I think where I bene...

Raised beds - what and what not to plant

Thanks for all of your replies - one further question: On the ordinary plot I'm advised against manuring the carrot bed to avoid forking etc - but raised beds especially new ones seem to be 90% manure - think they'll be ok?

Thanks

Planting Aquadulce

Its me again.
I have just found a packet of Aquadulce that says on the outside that they are specifically for autumn sowing - do they mean that or could I used em up now?

Thanks for any help you can give,

David

Raised beds - what and what not to plant

Hi all I'm about to start constructing some raised beds as my soil is a bit poor and thin, not to mention hard after the first few inches. So I can plan properly can anyone say what should not be planted in this way? ie do I need to leave some of my plot as normal beds? Thanks for any help you can g...

Walking onions

Hi Sylvia

I have had another look inside your excellent packaging and three of them have sprouted! Chantal, thanks for your help too.

I'll give them a go and put em in pots in the greenhouse and see what happens.

Thank you again.

That was about August time I think, nothing happened and I just put it down to supply and demand. But I'm glad to say they have arrived!! Just abou...

Mortons email

Ive just entered the free offers and quickly recived an email telling me that an email to Mortons (see below) had failed. As I hadnt sent them one but they are a magazine publisher I guess it is you.

Maybe you could look in to his and see if my entry has landed or not.

Chilies

Hi all, this is a bit different but lets see how it works. I have chili plant in a pot that has a good crop on it which I am planning to take off soon. The plant still looks green and healthy sat on the windowsill. The question is is it worth trying to keep it going through the winter or should I bi...
