Re: Lawn will this work

Colin, I'd recomend going to your local garden centre and asking about a pet friendly weed killer then. Most places will stock something I'd think, I've never had a dog so cant advise on whats safe and not...

Anyone had any experience with these roses? I'm hoping to grow it in a nice bug tub in the front garden. Just need to pick a colour to...

Re: shop garlic growing?

Thanks Tony, Very informative. I shouldn't be surprised. I think thats been my problem this year having lost 1/2 my crop to blight (although nothing in the tomatoes thank goodness). Guess I've got lucky with garlic. Maybe its because the most recent one I planted growing cloves from was a "loca...

Not cynical at all. I've seen it in flowers, so why not veg too?

shop garlic growing?

I'm really confused today. In this months kitchen garden mag, in the question time, Bob Flowerdew specifically stated not to grow supermarket potatoes, garlic and onions... All my potatoes and garlic are grown from the supermarket. Basically, I plant them rather than bin them when they start growing...

Re: Gentlemen of the Road.

Jb. Unfortunately that's because of reputation. A few bad eggs caused so much trouble that the good ones are scared of being accused of things. I went backpacking my first summer at uni, and stoped at farms, batering a few days hard work for food and a soft hay bale in the barn. I learned more that ...

Re: Mid Summer Bits and Bobs.

It sure would be interesting to have a "plant directory" section. Maybe further split into "fruit" "veg" "other"
