Bigfoot

Does anyone know where readers can obtain the Bigfoot (pictured on page 72 of the October issue)? It was something I first saw about 4-5 years ago and is a plastic attachment for spades and forks to make digging more comfortable, but I think it has fallen by the wayside now. If anyone has any ideas ...

KG in the DT

So pleased you saw the piece in the DT - that's my 10 minutes of fame come and gone, wouldn't want any of you to have missed it. By the way - I do most of the stunts myself, although I do get Lady Lettuce to do the very dangerous stuff. However, I always insist on wearing the marigolds! Have a great...

Feb the new Jan

Well done Mike, you've spotted the not so deliberate mistake! Yes the Feb jobs pages were labelled January - sorry for the confusion folks! Until very recently all gardening mags published a month in advance (some including KG and many other types of magazine still do) - officially the Feb issue goe...

Happy Christmas from the carrot (and lettuce)

Hi Folks I just wanted to add our very best wishes to those already posted by Mr Potato Head. Here's wishing all our forum visitors and KG readers a really great Christmas break and, of course, a successful gardening year to come. We'll be raising a glass or two to you during the next week or so! Ca...

double take

Well done all, next time I want to sneak my uncle some free vouchers I'd better remember to change his name (only joking). Red faces in the KG office all round. Yes any letters very welcome for the mag and letters with pictures would be even better. Who knows one of you might be chosen as star lette...

Nice idea, but you are right about the set up costs Chantal. Sad to say it just wouldn't be cost effective. I'm not that worried that misuse would ever be a big problem. It's usually pretty easy to spot the genuine requests.

....and I'm reassured to know that it is still possible to use honesty boxes, Old Herbaceous. Long may they remain! :D
I'll try not to be too mistrusting in future.

Sorry OH No offence intended. I know you are right about regular visitors to the forum, but like any such area on the net, it is open to view by anyone and as the editor I just need to be sure issues are used as intended. Nothing signed in blood or triplicate - just a reasonable idea of the intended...

Following on from Chantal's posting. Yes, very happy to supply limited quanitities of back issues to those wishing to give away free copies at their local shows, gardening clubs or allotments to newcomers etc. However, I will need proof that it is a genuine request and that they are NOT destined for...

cheers guys. Looks like I'll have to break with tradition and spend some money on a new pressure sprayer before I grow any more aubergines next year. Did manage a few full size fruit, but nothing like last year, so guess you are right about the lack of humidiy this year when the flowers were trying ...

picnic in the park

Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for feeding me on Sunday. Had to have a day off yesterday to recover from the experience, hence the delay in posting this message! Only joking, it was great to meet you all and the food was BRILLIANT!! Passed the champers to the girls on the KG stand as...
