Phillipines

Have to mention - did they loot & shoot? No found & shared! Did they wail & shout? No got on with it! Biggest typhoon ever & facing chaos they remain dignified! I know there will be elements of bad behaviour but my thoughts have to go out to them & congratulations to the press fo...

Re: blame the door!

Whew - that's reassuring! My biggest problem is remembering names (it's not new though!). Consequently everyone I know is 'mate', 'chook', 'darling' etc. They seem quite happy with this generally but I once called the chief exec 'mate' He just raised one eyebrow & smiled thankfully. Someone find...

Re: Frost tonight

Absolutely beautiful day here! Got loads done even though soil was a bit soggy it did make it easier for pulling the weeds! It was pretty close to a frost this morning so had a chance to cover some more crops as well before we get the real deal & possibly the last bunch of dahlia's for the vase....

Re: Roaring weather and work to do...

Looks like Sunday is going to be OK down here - chance to catch up a bit more but might be first frost as clear night, so that will create more to clear!
One step forward, two back etc

Re: Tomatoes

I've had an excellent tomato year. Went down to lottie today & still had ripe tomatoes - unfortunately also had blight damage but it was their turn to go anyway, but still think for 3rd Nov outdoors that is pretty remarkable!

Re: The Angina Files.

Great News PJ! You must have expert cardiologists if procedure was transmitted to the States! NHS is still proving it's worth! (Wonder what that will cost the poor patient's in the States??)

Make sure you follow doctors orders then - back on the allotment! :)

Re: Batten down the hatches .....

House intact but lost another roof pane on my greenhouse. Went down to lottie to secure everything in the afternoon and found my netting & black plastic all off but thankfully caught up in the fence - this was before the storm so will be interesting to see what's left now! Few trees down on the ...
