Re: Baggage survey from Kyiv at last!

While I can't match the stability shown by others here, I have lived in just two properties since 1981. My parents had just one house from 1955 to 1999.

I think these habits are bred into us, either staying put or peripatetic.

Re: I'm surprised shops haven't done this before

 I don't take that many layers off! I was thinking of winter when the air curtains by the front doors seem to be on at gale force 8 and 25 degrees C. Re: Electricity prices

.. I remember using a mangle, if fact there is a local car wash that still uses one for ringing out their leather. I remember my mother's washing machine had a mangle powered off the machine so that, with wooden tongs, the washing could be lifted out of the vertical tub, fed into the mangle and the...

Re: Electricity prices

Tumble dryers are big energy consumers, far more so than a traditional spin dryer that a previous generation used. I'm surprised no one has devised a spin dryer which can fit into an integrated system. The big problem is the way the price of electricity is calculated here. The government define pric...

Good for them. It can be difficult to screw up the courage to ask these sort of questions so well done for doing so.

Re: Is this a mineral deficiency?

I think these brassicas were in one of the KG giveaways (but can't remember for sure). The soil is clay over chalk, so likely to be alkaline. I find it odd that in two sowings in two locations (one here in Berkhamsted, the other in Hemel Hempstead), with all the seed from the same packet, there is o...

I wish I had some to hand OH, but fortunately I do have some well insulated gardening gloves. This cold weather is painful to my hands.

I'm surprised shops haven't done this before

Reducing temperature in store. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2022/dec/02/john-lewis-and-waitrose-to-dim-lights-and-cut-temperatures-to-save-energy I find most shops are overheated, after all you walk in off the street and I don't want to be taking layers off just to do a bit of sho...
